Frequently asked questions
What does Class B mean for a dental autoclave?
Under EN 13060, the European standard for small steam sterilizers, a Class B cycle removes air with fractionated pre-vacuum so steam reaches hollow instruments such as handpieces and the inside of wrapped packs. That is why Class B is the type dental clinics specify for handpieces.
Which autoclave size does a small clinic need?
The 18 L VA-18B is the size for a one- to two-chair clinic.
Why does an autoclave need distilled water?
Minerals in tap water scale the chamber and heating element and stain instruments. The VD-4 water distiller (4 L) supplies distilled water for the autoclave reservoir.
Can sterilization equipment ship together with the dental chair?
Yes. The autoclave, distiller and chair can go in the same shipment with one set of documents, so the clinic opens with the sterilization room ready.
